Tiny Houses

Why small houses are making it big

Pure life in the middle of nature, living on just 30 square metres including kitchen and bathroom - this reduction to the bare necessities sounds like happiness in miniature.

The desire for personal retreat, which is understandable especially in today's times, can be realised by moving into a Tiny House. Not only can it be very cosy here, but cleanliness and hygiene can be kept under control with a single wipe in the clearly laid out square metres.

Minimalism with a plan, flat as desired

Simple living in wood and away from it all seems tempting, were it not for a few practical aspects to consider. Where to put the Tiny House? Which furnishings are suitable? Are there suitable plots of land? Where to get electricity, gas, water and refuse collection? Is this infrastructure secured? And what do the purchase and maintenance cost? Of course, answering questions about the availability of land or development possibilities must come right at the beginning of the dream.

Well-planned from the start: Equipped with practical, easy-to-maintain materials, the small house doesn't require a lot of work.

Professional support

The good news is that many concerns and uncertainties can now be professionally resolved. A number of providers offer support for moving out into the countryside and for the alternative to building. They advise on Tiny Houses and give tips on building law, land, insurance or the possibility of remaining mobile with a Tiny House "on wheels".

Many municipalities are already making land available for the construction of Tiny Houses. By setting up entire Tiny House settlements, they are also creating new living space where there is not enough space for conventional development.

Home,
sweet mini home!

Pure, stylish, visionary

The new desire for puristically reduced living also provides the basis for the development of visionary alternative living concepts, and possibly even in the middle of the city.

Imagine several Tiny Houses that can be stacked, coupled and added together as modular room elements - to form a sustainable, energy-efficient whole that revives the ever-present desire to live in a community. Why not reduce space to a minimum and then share it?  Cook, eat, work, and of course, celebrate together. And why not include nature as well?  A green or a green roof can be created even in the smallest of spaces.

Dream since 1927

Kurt Tucholsky already summed up our longings in the poem "The Ideal" almost 100 years ago. An excerpt:

Yes, that's what you want:
a villa in the countryside with a large terrace,
the Baltic Sea in front, Friedrichstraße in the back;
with a beautiful view, rural and sophisticated,
the Zugspitze can be seen from the bathroom -
but you don't have far to go to the cinema in the evening...
